National Pro Fastpitch - National Pro Fastpitch (NPF), formerly the Women's Pro Softball League (WPSL), is the only professional women's softball league in the world. The WPSL was founded in 1997 and folded in 2001.

Bunt - A bunt is a special type of offensive technique in baseball or fastpitch softball. In a bunt play, the batter loosely holds the bat in front of the plate and intentionally taps the ball into play.

Riseball - A riseball is a pitch thrown by a pitcher in fastpitch softball. Upon release by the pitcher, the ball has backspin.
